⭐️Term 2 in Primary 7⭐️
23rd Feb 2024
In our topic of Titanic, the children worked on creating individual images of the Titanic at various stages of her maiden voyage. The children explored the visual elements of line, tone, colour, shape, form, and texture to express their ideas. They then used a range of pencils, water-colours, pastels, and paint to create each picture. 🎨
In numeracy, the children enthusiastically explored the world of 3D shapes. Using various resources, they investigated the nets of these geometric forms. Additionally, they explored the realm of weight, using scales to measure different objects. The practical activity of weighing various items provided an enjoyable hands-on learning experience. The children also applied their knowledge of measurement to create a scaled drawing of the Titanic. 📏
As part of our connected learning, the children embraced Minecraft Education to construct their own ship akin to the Titanic. Their creativity shone as they designed and built their virtual ships. We are excited to see the completion of their impressive projects. 🚢
In literacy, as part of our instructional writing, the children took on the challenge of baking rice crispy buns. This activity proved popular as the children enjoyed their delicious buns but also helped them grasp the purpose and structure of instructions. 📝🍰
Our primary 7s achieved a significant milestone by successfully organizing their first enterprise event in February. Their efforts raised an impressive total of £800. We extend our appreciation to our parents, guardians, and the entire school community for their invaluable support. 🎉💰
In P.E., our P7s enthusiastically participated in weekly Gaelic football sessions led by coaches from Tyrone GAA. These fun-filled and competitive lessons allowed the children to hone their Gaelic football skills. ⚽️🏃♂️
