Primary 6 have had a very busy and exciting term so far! 🌟 We recently finished our Energy topic, where we took part in some fantastic STEM learning. Working alongside the Drumlin Project, the children designed and made their own wind turbines 🌬️ as well as creating electrical circuits ⚡ as part of our investigations into energy. We’ve also started our new class novel, Charlotte’s Web 📚 and have been enjoying lots of active and outdoor learning in Numeracy now that the weather has improved ☀️ Our new topic, Going for Gold, has introduced us to the Ancient Greek Olympics 🏛️ and the children are already fully engaged and enthusiastic. Alongside all of this, we are now busy preparing for our school show 🎭 Several P6 pupils are part of the main cast, while everyone else is enthusiastically learning songs and dances. We can’t wait to share it with you al
Mrs Devlin’s nursery class travelled by bus to Parkanaur where they met their friends from Cookstown Nursery. The children from both schools followed the Gruffalo Trail and found him sleeping in the forest! Along the way the children collected leaves, flowers, pine cones and twigs for their nature hunt.

Primary 5 World War II Topic Primary 5 have really enjoyed exploring their World War II topic this term. The children have been learning about the key events of the war and, in particular, what life was like for children during this difficult period in history. As part of their learning, the pupils created timelines to help them understand the order of important wartime events. They also designed and built their own Anderson shelters, showing great creativity and problem-solving skills. The classes spent time thinking about the experiences of evacuees and children living through the Blitz. This inspired some excellent writing, including poems, letters and postcards home, where the children imagined what it would have felt like to leave their families behind. There was also plenty of hands-on learning throughout the topic. The pupils explored wartime codes and ciphers, including Pigpen and Caesar ciphers, and used their code-breaking skills during a World War II scavenger hunt. They created striking pieces of artwork, including gas mask designs and dramatic Blitz scenes.
⭐ P7 Shine at the Art McCrory & Damian Cahalane Tournament ⭐ P7 boys and girls did the school proud today at the Art McCrory and Damian Cahalane football tournament hosted by St. Patrick’s PS Dungannon. It was a brilliant day of football, teamwork and school spirit from start to finish ⚽💙💚 Our P7 boys were superb in the group stages, finishing unbeaten and securing their place in the Cup semi‑final. They battled hard in a very competitive game against Edendork PS and were unlucky not to progress further. Their effort, attitude and sportsmanship were outstanding all day. The P7 girls also went unbeaten in their group and carried that momentum right through to the final, where they produced a fantastic performance to lift the Damian Cahalane Cup 🏆 A brilliant achievement that reflects their hard work and determination. We are incredibly proud of every single pupil who represented the school today. Their teamwork, behaviour and encouragement of one another made them wonderful ambassadors for our school community. A special congratulations goes to Emely O’Neill, who was awarded Girls Player of the Tournament — a fantastic and well deserved honour for her skill, leadership and consistency throughout the day ⭐
A reminder that parent workshops will be taking place later this month. We hope you can join us.
Congratulations to our Primary Four pupils who made their First Holy Communion this morning in a beautiful ceremony. Thank you to our fabulous choir, tin whistle group, staff and everyone who helped in the preparations for the ceremony. We hope you and all your family and friends have a lovely day celebrating in the sunshine! 🌟
Miss Devlin and all of the staff of Holy Trinity Primary School would like to wish every blessing to our Primary 4 children who are receiving the sacrament of First Holy Communion tomorrow at 11am in Holy Trinity Church.
🌟ASC/LSC Assembly 🌟 This morning our LSC and ASC children took part in a beautiful assembly to honour Mary, Mother of Jesus 💐 The children spoke about spring, new beginnings, and the gifts nature brings. They lovingly placed flowers on our May altar, celebrating new life, before coming together to say the Hail Mary and sing songs using their voices and sign language. As part of Deaf Awareness Week, the children used Makaton to ensure everyone could join in and feel included. Well done to all our boys and girls, we are so proud of you! 🌸✨
