Primary 7 Term 3 🚢⭐️
12th Apr 2024
The Primary 7 children have made a fantastic start to the new term. Throughout their topic work, the children displayed great enthusiasm and curiosity as they delved into the intriguing story of Titanic. As part of their topic, the children have been learning about the construction of the Titanic and its unique structure and design. Linking this to their ICT, the children were tasked with using Minecraft to re-create a scale model of the Titanic. Their creation had to include key features that were unique to the ship’s original design. The P7 children were then given the opportunity this week to showcase their Minecraft creations for the entire year group.
In Literacy the children finished their class novel – The Spirit of the Titanic. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed reading this story that included the fateful maiden journey of the Titanic and the passengers’ experiences of the events that unfolded. After finishing the novel, the children were tasked with completing a character profile on their favourite character from the book.
In Numeracy this week the children have been working very hard on their data handling. They were presented with a data set and were tasked with finding the range, mode, median and mean. The children then progressed to creating their own data set based on an activity they completed during PE.
Our P7 children also received their leavers hoodies this week. The children were delighted with this special presentation from Miss Devlin, and they all look fantastic!
