LSC ASC Sensory Skills Art Programme

4th Apr 2025
The pupils in the Learning Support and Autism Classes had the opportunity to participate in a sensory skills art programme funded by the Mid Ulster Council. The overall aim of the project was to empower, enhance and enrich the quality of the lives of the participants through a creative sensory experience and raise awareness about the abilities of young people with additional needs.
Áine Mohorič led a four week music therapy programme with the P3-P7 pupils from ASC/LSC. The pupils were able to explore and experiment using a range of instruments. All the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the therapeutic and creative programme.
Photographs and videos were taken of the sessions and on Friday 4th April, representatives from the school went to the official opening of the exhibition.
The pupils were able to see their photos and reflect on their experiences. They were met by Mr Sean Mc Elthatton, Mid Ulster Council, the Chair and Vice Chair of Mid Ulster Council as well as Áine Mohorič.
It was a fantastic afternoon, and we are very honoured to have had the opportunity to participate in the programme. ⭐️😊🎶
