A busy week in Primary 3
⭐️ Primary 3 had a busy but very enjoyable week.
In Literacy, we looked closely reports, exploring non-fiction books on minibeasts for fascinating facts. Our class novel, "James and the Giant Peach," sparked connections to our minibeast studies across the curriculum.
Numeracy focused on position and direction, mastering movements like right, left, clockwise, and anti-clockwise. We applied these skills to programming Bee-Bot in ICT, solving problems and creating a minibeast-themed bar graph for data handling.
Thursday brought excitement with Liz Farnan's 'Love Bugs' workshop, aligning perfectly with our 'Let's Go Hunting' World Around Us topic. We enjoyed a minibeast hunt, examined resin bug blocks, built ladybirds, explored butterfly life cycles, and ended with a surprising story, 'The Tadpole's Promise.' Huge thanks to Liz for an enriching and valuable learning experience.
In Art we have been working towards using natural materials to re-create minibeasts. We really enjoyed taking part in this lesson outdoors. We hope this lovely weather stays with us for our last few weeks of Primary 3. ☀️
