Primary 5 Fire Safety Chat from the Fire Service 🚒

5th Feb 2024
Primary Five received a fire safety chat from the local fire service. The chat was led by Gareth from the Cookstown fire station who shared his knowledge and experience on fire safety with the students.
The chat began with a brief introduction to the fire service and its role in the community. Gareth then went on to explain the importance of fire safety and the dangers of fire. He also discussed the different types of fires and how to prevent them. Gareth discussed the household hazards and how we could prevent them becoming a danger within our home.
The students were then shown smoke alarms, escape plans, and what to do in case of a fire. This was followed by a Q&A session, where the students had the opportunity to ask questions and clarify any doubts they had. Gareth even allowed the children to put on his uniform.

Thank you to Gareth and the fire service for this informative chat.
