P2 Outdoor Learning
10th Nov 2023
Primary 2 have been busy at their Outdoor Play! The children really enjoy the freedom and space of being outdoors. They can explore their natural environment, try new activities and solve problems by working together.
This week the children have enjoyed creating an outside Art Gallery! They made a beautiful Autumn Frieze by selecting and matching autumn paint colours and sticking berries, leaves and twigs to the canvas.
The children took part in measuring investigations. They had to select and sort objects from shortest to longest. They used their feet to measure carefully and recorded their findings on the ground using chalk.
At the large-scale construction, the children worked together to build a rocket for Baby Bear from our story ‘Whatever Next!’ There was lots of stirring and mixing in the Mud Lab as the children concocted all kinds of slimy soups and stews for their picnic on the moon!
It is always fun to practise our counting outside too! Jump counting in two’s and spotting the even numbers is easy for Primary 2!
There is always lots going on at our Imaginative Areas outside. From building bug hotels, to creating our own farms and dinosaur lands. Beware- it is messy, muddy and mucky- but we LOVE it!
